Iroquois invested growth capital into this company in January 2014. BASS Medical, Inc. (BASS Medical) manufacturers and markets a disposable fluid control mat used in surgery and other areas of the healthcare institution. The BASS® was designed to keep the operating room (OR) floor dry during high fluid volume procedures such as shoulder and knee arthroscopy. Hospitals and Ambulatory Surgical Centers (surgery centers) routinely encounter large amounts of fluid on the floor when utilizing pressurized irrigation solutions as part of arthroscopic procedures. This fluid causes hazardous conditions for the staff that may result in slips or falls and also creates infection control issues. Fluid on the floor leads to lengthening the turn-around-time of the operating room suites between patients which results in lost revenue to the facility due to time lost in OR clean-up. The BASS® can be used in other types of surgeries such as, head trauma, urology procedures, vaginal deliveries, and C-section procedures.
